How lessons work

Simple, calm, fitted to you

Lessons take place online. Each learner works with a woman educator suited to her level.

  1. Online, from home

Lessons are held over the internet, one-to-one or in a small group. There is no journey to make.

  2. Matched to you

A learner is matched with an educator by level, subject and the time that suits her.

  3. Explain, practise, ask

The educator explains the topic, they practise together, then the learner's questions are answered.

  4. No interpreter

Lessons are held in Azerbaijani or Turkish. The two languages are mutually intelligible, so no interpreter is needed.

Our principles

Six principles that do not bend

Written briefly and plainly, so that every parent, learner and educator knows in advance what they can rely on.

  • A firm rule

    Only women educators may teach.

    Girl to girl

Lessons are taught by women only; every match is made between a woman educator and a girl. The reason is simple: our learners are girls who wear the headscarf. Their faith calls for it, and it is the safest arrangement against abuse of any kind.

There are no exceptions to this rule. Applications to teach from men are not accepted.

  • Free of charge

Lessons are entirely free. No fee is ever asked of a learner or a parent, under any name. The educators are volunteers.

  • Parental consent

Learners under 18 take part with a parent's consent. It will be requested at the main registration stage, not now.

  • Privacy

Learners' names, photographs and schools are never shared publicly.

  • Education only

This is a humanitarian education initiative centred on the right to education. We have one aim: that girls do not fall behind in their lessons.

  • No language barrier

Azerbaijani and Turkish are mutually intelligible. No interpreter is needed between educator and learner.
